Type of break: Reef Break
Description: The swell is always bigger here, but is sensitive to the wind. The SW, which is so good for most of the Eastern Cape point breaks, is sideshore here. 

Best conditions are light NW bergwinds or even onshore NE, and clean 2-6' groundswell. Several secret reefs get epic along the wild side, even when the NE is blowing, which is offshore at some spots. However, to get the best out of this coastline, you'll have to infiltrate the local PE community to find out. 

Coming from the West along the wild side, travelling from Van Stadensmond, there are several nature reserves, such as the Maitland Mines Nature Reserve, Island Forest Reserve and Seaview Game Park.

This stretch of coast includes a host of classic surf spots, such as Maitlands, Beachview, Seaview, Craters, Rocky's, Sardinia Bay, Main Rights, Bullets, Secrets, Virgin Bay and Non Kom. *****
