Beachgoers can look forward to an action packed sports line-up this spring holiday as the inaugural 2008 Vodacom Feva beach festival hits the shores of Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World from September 26th to October 5th.

“Vodacom Feva encompasses all of the essential ingredients to ensure that there will be something for everyone in the form of beach sports and entertainment. There will be breathtaking Jet Ski displays and extreme motorbike stunt riding shows as well as interactive events like Vodacom Ocean Experience water safety classes and beach soccer,” commented Alberts Breed, Managing Executive: Vodacom KZN.

The inaugural Vodacom Feva festival will utilize a unique combination of adrenaline sports and lifestyle exhibitions to create a popular new event on the KZN calendar which guarantees to be a visual feast to get all beachgoers’ pulses racing.

The Vodacom Freestyle Jet Ski displays promise death-defying antics from KZN’s top pilots. Multiple SA Freestyle Jet Ski Champion Wayde Staphorst (Durban North) will set the pace by launching off waves as high as possible whilst mixing in moves like no hand backflips, barrel rolls and cliff hangers with some powerful wave riding in between. Staphorst will be joined by other big names such as Welcome Radebe (Umlazi), Andrew Ensor-Smith and his wife Sally Ensor-Smith (both Sunningdale).

Internationally-known motorbike daredevil Brian Capper (Gauteng) will be in action in the extreme trial biking exhibition; Capper will negotiate the treacherous terrain on the outskirts of the beach and on his gig rig as well as enlisting the help of brave volunteers which he will jump over.

Vodacom Ocean Experience coaches will be on hand daily at 10h30, 13h00 and 15h00 to teach members of the public about rip currents, swimming between the flagged lifesaving beacons and other ocean-safety tips. The free lessons will be rounded off with wave riding clinics where children will get the
opportunity to learn to surf.

Vodacom touch rugby, beach soccer and volleyball sessions will also be held free of charge and open to everyone.

The ten-day Vodacom Feva beach festival will host dance competitions with Vodacom give-aways as well as other stage entertainment. Vodacom promoters will be available to assist with any Vodacom-related queries that festival-goers may have.

Vodacom Feva looks set to be a highlight of the Kwa Zulu-Natal spring break school holidays.
